Did You Remember to Breathe Today?
Yes, it may sound crazy but when was the last time you monitored your breathing. Naturally our bodies go into autopilot and there’s no thought in breathing, let alone the quality of breathing. Whether you’re taking slow deep breaths in and out or hyperventilating there are affects breathing has on your body. One of my favorite calming mechanisms that help relieve stress and anxiety are based around
breath.
The steps are easy to follow and takes less than five minutes:
Center yourself. Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes.
Clear your mind of toxic thoughts and energy.
Slowly count to five while you breathe in. Allow your rib cage to expand and shoulders to rise.
Slowly count to five breathing that air outward and releasing any left-over tension. Allow
the rib cage to contract and shoulders drop.
*Repeat three times*
Once you have opened your eyes you will feel refreshed, renewed and ready to tackle any
obstacle ahead!
